As Samsung couldn’t quiz dogs about what their dream doghouse would entail, they did the next best thing: they asked 1,500 dog-owners. The results were surprising… or were they? Company researchers discovered a full 64% of dog-owners feel technology could benefit their pets’ lives, although gadgets such as treadmills, hot-tubs and dog-operated feeders were somewhat predictable conveniences.
On the other hand, er, paw, fully 24% of those asked thought a built-in TV or tablet would be the cat’s meow! Ask and ye shall receive: the Dream Doghouse features a wall mounted Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet ensuring the pampered canine can view, interact and communicate with their equally social media-savvy owners.
The so-called “pup pleasure dome” boasts a wealth of other luxury mod-cons as well, including a push-to-woof call bell, an interior carpeted in fire retardant material, designer paw and dog bone pillows and wallpaper, framed portraits of their furry friends, a skylight/access door, a dog-operated snack dispenser, miniature treadmill and custom hot-tub.
“With the Samsung Dream Doghouse,” states Andy Griffiths, President of Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, “we wanted to reflect the nation’s growing trend for using technology. From dogs who have social media profiles to owners who use video calling to check on their pet while away, technology is fast becoming an integral part of everyday life.” Griffiths went on to say “The Samsung Dream Doghouse looks sleek and modern, featuring the kind of tech the discerning dog of the future will need.” So there you have it: discerning dogs of the future prefer Samsung… does yours?
