Nailed It! Carpenter Crafts Wooden Electric Cars

Liu’s wooden “Model Tree” sported some surprising performance stats thanks in part to the light weight of its metal-free body and frame. On a fully-charged battery Liu reports a range of up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles), respectable and practical for an urban commuter and grocery-getter. Should Liu find he’s running late, putting the pedal to the met- er, floorboards results in a top speed of 30 kilometers per hour or 18.65 mph.

Indeed, Liu won’t be passing many (make that ANY) semi-trailers on the freeway in either his first or his second EV efforts. Yep, second… he thought the first one was so nice so he thought he’d build it twice – with some improvements.
