Quite Quiet: Q30 Zero-Emissions Electric Motorboat

The Q30 electric motorboat from Q Yachts boasts an innovative Oceanvolt power and propulsion system to ensure boaters cruise cleanly, greenly and quietly.

Silent Running

Zero-emissions vehicles are the coming thing on land, sea and… well, on land and sea for the moment at least. The latter features the Q30, an all-electric, non-polluting motorboat designed and manufactured by Q Yachts. Now boaters can embrace their green side while relaxing on the water, hanging out the lines at a favorite fishing hole, or simply tuning into the soothing sounds of the natural world unhindered by the coughing sputter of a gas- or diesel-fueled engine.

Volts Wagon

The Q30 is one clean, green and lean machine – its hydrodynamic lines enable the crisp-lined craft to glide over the waves with the greatest of ease and a minimum of wake. Propulsion is both efficient and silent thanks to Q Yacht’s ingenious “Oceanvolt” power system. Oceanvolt has proved its worth time after time, vessel after vessel, as an alternative non-polluting power source for sailboats. This cutting-edge technology makes the Q30 “the smoothest and most silent motorboat on the market,” according to Q Yachts.

Calm Cruise

The Oceanvolt system is comprised of three complementary subsystems: a zero-emission AXC20 electric motor, a tuned-to-be-silent propulsion system featuring four-bladed high-skew propellers, and a hydro-dynamically optimized hull that ensures every electron is put to work unhindered. With this smoothness comes welcome power. The Q30 will cruise at 9 knots over a range of 42 to 80 nautical miles. At the maximum speed of 15 knots, the range is reduced to between 22 and 40 nautical miles.
