Bunkie: Tiny Prefab House is the Perfect Nature Retreat

Incredibly simple prefab construction makes the adorable Bunkie an ideal solution for inexpensive, low-impact shelter that can be placed virtually anywhere. Designed by 608 Design and BLDG Workshop, the Bunkie is made using CNC milling processes to cut large pieces of wood that fit together easily to assemble within days.

The wood frame of the house consists of 'slices' of this wood that fit together along with the two glassed-in sides. Those transparent walls enable views of whatever surroundings the inhabitants choose, and give it a spacious feel, especially in combination with the high ceiling.

Just large enough to function as a sleeping cabin, outdoor dining room, meditation space or work studio, the Bunkie could also serve as a freestanding backyard addition to an existing structure.
