Please DO feed the animals at the Japan Monkey Park near Nagoya… to be more specific, feed ONLY the above set of simian bins your – from left to right – cans & plastic bottles, and burnable trash. Not sure if the yellowish highlight just to the right of each bin’s aperture is a hand or a banana. Why not both?

Singapore has a reputation for cleanliness – enforced or not – and the point of this “Recycle Point” of eye-catching recycle bins is to emphasize how serious the Southeast Asian nation-state is about green living. Installed in the Arrival Hall at Station 4 in Changi Airport, the bins employ clever visual imagery to convey their chosen recyclables regardless of what language airport visitors may speak. That’s particularly fitting since keeping public places and spaces clean should be a universal pursuit.
