“We focus on achieving measurable, sustainable results,” according to the company website. “For example, our soap in schools program in Kenya, launched in early 2016, has achieved a 60% reduction in hygiene-related illnesses for over 4,000 elementary school children, while increasing school attendance over 45%.”

Around 5,000 hotels in the United States are participating in the program currently, and Clean The World continues to expand internationally with its main plant in Orlando being joined by others in Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Montreal and India. The company is also moving beyond bars of soap, collecting hotel bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. If the bottles are at least 3/4 full, they’re added to hygiene kits along with toothbrushes, toothpaste and other sundries that are sent to homeless shelters around the world. Empty bottles are recycled.

So don’t feel bad about leaving those cute little bars of soap and bottles of shampoo behind when you check out of your hotel. If the resort is partnering with Clean The World, those little luxuries will enjoy a sustainable reincarnation as life-savers. (images and info via WENN).
