“I approached one (shark) cautiously and gently started patting and talking to her,” continues Anderson. “She seemed to enjoy the interaction, so over a number of dives during the season I would dive in the area so we could interact.” Huh – you’d think sharks are kittens of the sea! With nearly three decades of diving experience, Anderson was well aware of this species’ propensities. As well, he knows these wild ocean creatures deserve to be treated with respect regardless of their culinary choices. It would seem that this shark, at least, appreciates his kindness and is responding in kind.
