SMART Electric Bike

Could this be the “SMART ForOne”? Introduced in mid-2012 and depicted above at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show alongside its 4-wheeled kissin’ cousin, the Smart Electric Bike from DaimlerAG aims to be THE eBike for all people… and that includes Pope Francis.

In aspiring to be the every-person’s eBike, some compromises have had to be made in the SMART Electric Bike in order to simplify maintenance and keep the price reasonable. One area the bike doesn’t fall short in is style: it’s a lean, good-looking machine that feels as good to ride as it does on the eyes. Performance, on the other hand, is slightly above pedestrian: the bike’s 36-volt 10AH lithium manganese battery combined with a 250-watt electric motor equal long ranges but at slow speeds.

The A2B Electric Bike from Ultra Motor is tough enough to take on the streets (if not the gangs) of New York while boasting a heapin’ helpin’ of celebrity cred in the person of Leonardo DiCaprio. Leo knows how to pick his ride, and the A2B Electric Bike offers plenty of advantages to riders famous, infamous or ordinary. The frame packs a lithium battery capable of providing a 20-mile range and if that’s not enough, just install a secondary battery to double the range. Those NYC streets can be mean, however, so be sure to be like Leo and bring your Kryptonite lock – odds are you’re gonna need it.
