This fascinating design from ZedFactory in the UK proves that subterranean homes don’t have to look like hobbit holes, and they don’t have to be entirely underground. The earth-sheltered home is only lightly touched by the surrounding soil, but even being partially underground can improve the strength and energy efficiency of a structure.
