Urban Cactus Building Design, Rotterdam

Imagine living in an apartment but still having a lush vegetable garden on your generous terrace. That’s what the designers of this building wanted to achieve. The unusually-shaped tiers allow each occupant to have their own slice of green outdoor space. By adding an outdoor element to housing that is notoriously cramped and devoid of nature, this building gives city dwellers a chance to participate in growing some of their own food at home.
