London Bridge Vertical Farm Concept

Believe it or not, this futuristic idea for London Bridge was actually inspired by the past. In years long past, the bridge was a place for merchants and citizens to gather and conduct their trade. Today, it’s home to a few buskers and confused tourists looking for the Tower Bridge, but the Royal Institute for British Architects wanted to see what it could be in the imaginations of architects. Chetwood Architects won their competition with this fantastical design which incorporates a huge organic vertical farm, solar powered spires, wind turbines, and a commercial center for fresh food markets and retail spaces. A connected pier would even allow trading to take place at water level.
