Sustainable "Hobbit Hole" House, Wales

When Simon Dale and his family set out to build their dream home, they didn’t call contractors and architects like most people. They simply dug a hole, cut down some trees and set to work. The result is the ultimate “green” home: it’s set into the hillside, is made of earth, local wood, and recycled materials, and is powered by all natural means. The green roof is simply an extension of the surrounding hills and serves to visually melt the home comfortably into its environment.
