		<description>@emily You missed the point. It&#039;s not about strength at all as in muscles, but balance and even finger strength. I see nothing in this about abs. This seems like adventure article to me and not how-to climb, footwork cannot be learned in a few paragraphs. Sadly, this is always overlooked by know-it-all commenters who think an article can be forever long and focus on all things.</description>

		<description>This article is wrong about a lot of things in climbing.  You need good footwork and good technique before working on anything else (ie strength).  Sadly, this is always overlooked by climbing newbs in favor of hollywood abs, biceps, and legs.  I&#039;ve seen slighltly overweight teens with good technique/footwork outclimb any sylvester stallone who can bench press 200 lbs for this reason alone.

Good strength with no technique will get you no where in climbing.</description>
