Colorful Earth Art of Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy is undoubtedly one of the most talked-about land artists of modern times. His visually striking works are made at a human scale with incredible attention to vibrant colors and uncanny details. How did he manage to find and arrange an entire rainbow from fallen leaves, wrap freezing water to solidify in a spiral around a tree, compose something as beautiful as a painting from only found materials? His works, framed into photographs, are themselves beautiful compositions even without the further knowledge of how they were incredibly made – from natural materials arranged, tweaked and coaxed. Even more impressive, this master earth artist in many cases simply walks into a forest or clearing with no clear idea of what kind of art will result from the materials and inspiration he finds along the way.
